The West Florida Model Boat Club is a new organization based in Land O' Lakes, FL. Our nickname is
Aquamaniacs . We welcome all forms of quiet model boating including fast electrics racing, sailing,
and scale. Nitro and gas powered models are not allowed at our lakes due to noise restrictions.
There are two great clubs in the area for those boats. You can find links to them in our Links
section. We hope to eventually have two lake sites, one North and one South. We are still looking for a lake in the Land O' Lakes area. If anyone has a solution, let us know! The Southern site is located in Sarasota, FL on Fruitville Rd just off of I-75 at Akerman Park. Click on Our Lakes. There is a map there.
OUR SCHEDULE: At the Akerman Park site in Sarasota County: Second Sunday of every month for Test-N-Tune. Fourth Sunday of every month for racing. Activities commence at 9 a.m. and are generally concluded by 1 p.m.
GUEST POLICY: Guests are welcome but must be sponsored by a current member. After three guest visits, the guest must join the club.

Our current Sarasota lake is open only to bonafied club members, per County requirements, on
Sundays for practice activities, scheduled meets, or just general fun model boating. When we have
two lakes, we will have monthly events that feature fast electric racing, sailing regattas and scale
boating. For times when the lakes are restricted to certain activities, please refer to our "schedule".

The Aquamaniacs is a registered club with the North American Model Boating Association,
NAMBA. Membership in NAMBA is a prerequisite for belonging to the Aquamaniacs as it provides
liability insurance, sets safety rules and guidelines, and affords the opportunity to set speed
records. The property owners of our lakes also require that everyone using their facility to be a
paid up and bonafied member of both NAMBA and the Aquamaniacs. The West Florida Model Boat
Club is also a Florida non-profit corporation.
