The Mini Cat Samurai Catamaran is a top quality fiberglass racing boat made completely with the best of American epoxy resins and materials. The polished gelcoat finish ensures lasting color without the need to paint the hull. The water cooled brushless motor and electronic speed control are chemically treated at the factory to make them resistant to moisture. Small amounts of water in the boat is not an issue.
The Samurai comes built and ready-to-run. Just add battery(s) and your receiver. (Of course you will also need a transmitter.) It features a precision brushless water cooled motor with an pro-quality water jacket rather than the usual silicone sleeve or wrapped aluminum tubing. Fittings include ball socket attachments at the steering servo and rudder. The antenna mount is already installed and the antenna tube furnished. The water outlet, like the rest of the hardware, is CNC machined and anodized. This is another example of the extra attention to quality not normally found in ready-to-run models.
The water cooled electronic speed control (ESC) is programmable and has preset voltage cutoffs to protect your valuable batteries from over discharging. The 100A ESC is perfectly matched with the powerful 540 size inrunner motor and comes with an easy to use program card! Recommended batteris are two 6 Cell 7.2V 3200-4200mAh NiMh packs in series or two 2S 7.4V 3600-4200mAh Liithium polymer packs in series. Batteries between 20 and 30C discharge rates should be used. The hull design gives the Samurai great stability at speed and in rough water. The low profile is much more stable than other cats on the market. Estimated speed, depending on water conditions, batteries, and prop is 40-50 mph! The boat is easy to drive for even a beginner! As usual with Mini Cat Racing, spare parts are always available.
